Meet Devlin, aka the Glitch Bitch

There’s something unnatural about living with memories that don’t belong to you. Waking up with someone else’s name in your throat. Feeling grief for people you never met. That’s what it means to be Devlin.

Devlin wasn’t born. He was built—stitched from blood, data, and fractured memories of lives already ended. Sam Vernon is the foundation: her body, her history, her death. But Devlin isn’t Sam. He isn’t anyone else they used as raw material either. He’s something new—something that shouldn’t exist but does. And every day, he fights to prove he’s more than the shadow of a dead girl.

The Man Beneath the Glitch

At first glance, Devlin is calm, measured, and calculating. He carries himself with a precision that feels rehearsed, like every movement is being monitored. But beneath that exterior is a storm—voices, flashes of memories, emotions that don’t feel like his but hit with the weight of truth. He walks like a man being hunted, speaks like his words have been borrowed, and lives with the constant fear that even his sense of self is a fabrication.

Devlin is not easy to know. He guards himself with silence and distance, and when someone does break through, it’s with hesitation, mistrust, and a fragile kind of bravery. But when his trust is earned, it’s sacred. Rare. Unshakable.

Haunted by Memory

What makes Devlin different isn’t just the memories—it's the contradictions. He remembers people he’s never met. He loves faces he’s never seen. He grieves lives he never lived. Every emotion carries the weight of someone else’s history. To outsiders, that makes him unstable. To Devlin, it makes him a prisoner. He doesn’t want to be a living monument to someone else’s story. He wants to be real. To be his own.

And then there’s Garrett.

Garrett is loud where Devlin is quiet, reckless where Devlin is precise. He’s chaos, fire, and vulnerability all at once. But most importantly—he sees Devlin. Not Sam. Not a failed experiment. Not a glitch in human form. He sees the man in front of him, even when Devlin can’t.

That terrifies Devlin more than the voices in his head or the scientists who want to drag him back. Because Garrett makes him feel like he’s more than a mistake. More than an echo. More than the thing he was made to be.

Devlin doesn’t know how to handle that kind of acceptance. Sometimes he lashes out. Sometimes he retreats. But he always comes back. Because as much as he wants to believe he’s built on borrowed parts, Garrett proves—again and again—that he’s something more.

Devlin’s Core Conflict

Every step Devlin takes is a rebellion:

Against the people who stitched him together.

Against the memories that threaten to swallow him.

Against the world that insists on seeing him as someone else’s ghost.

He doesn’t just want survival. He wants identity. Autonomy. A life that belongs only to him. And that fight—fragile, terrifying, and relentless—is what makes Devlin more human than anyone ever expected.
